Tenmoku Poetry Tea Set

Our Tenmoku Poetry Tea Set is a beautiful combination of art and nature. Handmade in Malaysia by a prominent Chinese artist this set is a piece of his well known Tenmoku Pottery Collection. The eight piece tea set includes a teapot with a bamboo handle, six matching mini tea cups and a tea canister. The unique pattern on our tea set is created by pressing flowers, leaves and twigs to the surface prior to firing. These natural elements turn to ash, their impression emerges, and a black glaze is applied to the interior making it water tight. The artist carves the Chinese words into the wet clay using a small rigid brush prior to firing. Written into the back of our Tenmoku Poetry Tea Set is this sentimental poem Precious Memories:
